Situated at the foot of Zijin Mountain, Nanjing is well known for its history and cultured atmosphere. Fengyuan Square, in the scenic Jiangning district of Nanjing, was selected as the event ground. Hot weather did not deter contestants¡¯ passion and interest, as every contestant was ready to perform.
In the opening ceremony, Mr Jiang Shixin-Vice Director General of Jiangning Administrative Committee Social and Economical Development Bureau, Mr Zhang Rongyu-Vice President of Jiangning Federation of Trade Unions, Mr Lu Chengyun-Vice Director of Nanjing Special Equipment Supervision and Inspection Institute, Mr Chen Mao-Sales Director of Linde (China) Jiangsu Region gave their speeches respectively. Following that, driving the Linde E16C, contestants from Nanjing Nanqi Logistics Co., Ltd performed the ¡°matchbox pressing¡± show, arousing a shower of applause from the audience.
¡°Jiangning Development Zone was established 15 years ago, since then, we see a constantly growing economy with more and more enterprises coming into here. ¡°Linde Cup¡± China Tour provides a platform for forklift operation experts to compete, testing not only contestants¡¯ skills, but also team spirit. This event also helps to improve the overall logistics efficiency level in Nanjing. We are looking forward to Linde (China) organizing more similar events in the future¡±, says Mr Jiang Shixin.
The fierce competition began right after the opening ceremony. 41 company teams participated actively in two programs ¡°moving wide material through a narrow space¡± and ¡°handling pallets while passing across hindrance¡±.
